Primitive Baptist Articles of Faith
We believe in one true and living God; the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit: these Three are One.
We believe that the Scripture of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired word of God and the only rule of faith and practice.
We believe that God elected a people unto eternal salvation and that this election (choice) was eternal, particular, and unconditional.
We believe that these thus elected of God were predestinated before the world began to be conformed to the image of the Son.
We believe that Adam fell in sin by transgression and thus brought his posterity into a depraved condition from which none may recover by his own works.
We believe that the elect of God were specifically redeemed by the atonement of Christ and that these only shall be eternally saved.
We believe that God quickens His elect in time by the effectual and immediate work of the Holy Spirit in regeneration.  This new birth is accomplished without the necessity of the gospel being preached or any other external means.
We believe in the final preservation and eternal salvation of all the elect of God by grace alone.
We believe in a universal resurrection and a general judgment.   In this judgment the joys of the righteous and the punishment of the wicked will be eternal.
We believe that the only proper subjects for baptism (immersion) are believers.
We believe that the Lord's Supper and the washing of the saint's feet should be observed by the Lord's Church.
We believe that the Lord established His Church upon the earth and that He is the great Head and only Lawgiver of His Church.  The government and administration of the Church is with the Church itself, each member having an equal voice.
We believe that Scriptural discipline must be faithfully kept for the Church to continue in peace, fellowship, and obedience to the law of Christ.
We believe that the true Church of our Lord Jesus Christ has ever believed and been identified by the principles herein set forth.
